New patch fixes lighting issues in the PC version of the game.

Liquid Dragon studios, creators of the game Deadliest Catch: Alaskan Storm, notified us that today that they’ve just released a new patch for the PC Version of the game.

The patch is available for download free of charge at

According to LiquidDragon:

The patch fixes some compatibility issues with newer graphics hardware.

* Fixed issues with the boat not being lit at night.
* Specular lighting is now properly enabled.
* Fixed flickering during screen transitions.

Great to see these issues getting fixed, and an awesome game getting even better!

I love the graphics on Deadliest Catch: Alaskan Storm!

To me this game is all about immersing yourself in the experience of Alaskan offshore fishing. If you enjoy the Discover Channel TV series Deadliest Catch and ever wished that you could be there (but aren’t quite ready yet to endure the freezing cold, stormy seas, hard work, and deadly risk), then this game will let you finally make that fantasy a reality — without ever getting wet!

One of the most realistic simulator games to come out in a long time.

If you’re the type of person who expects a Simulator Game to be just that — an accurate simulation of the real deal — then you will appreciate the level of attention to detail that has gone into Deadliest Catch: Alaskan Storm. Rarely have game developers gone as far as these guys did — risking their lives by heading out to sea on the Northwestern, one of the Alaskan crab fishing boats made famous by the Discovery Channel series Deadliest Catch.

It’s finally here! The XBox 360 version of the new simulation game based upon the Discovery Channel series Deadliest Catch. As a huge fan of the TV series, I have to say that I’ve rarely been so excited about a new release.

One of the coolest things about this game are the top-notch sound effects. Clearly due to all the footage the Discovery Channel has shot for the Deadliest Catch TV show, they’ve compiled high quality recordings of pretty much all of the sounds that take place out at sea: birds, machinery operating, crab pots splashing in to the water, waves breaking against the bow, etc… I don’t know if the game developers had access to these sounds when creating the game, but whatever they did, they really managed to capture the feeling of being out there on a fishing vessel off the Alaskan coast.

It doesn’t take a lot of imagination to feel like you’re really there…. Think you’re man enough to live the Deadliest Catch experience?
